In the year 1980, Dr. Rout completed his MBBS and added a MD (Medicine) degree to his existing qualifications, in 1990. Three years later, he successfully achieved a super speciality degree of DM in Nephrology but he had academic inclinations. He therefore, took up a teaching position at SCB Medical College, Cuttack where he is currently training students in the field of Nephrology. He enjoys privileges of a member to numerous accredited medical societies.
